Dr. Nicholas J. Minissale, DO, MS, is a board-eligible orthopedic spine surgeon with specialized training in both complex and minimally invasive spine surgery. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Jefferson Health in New Jersey, where he trained at leading institutions such as the Rothman Institute, Cooper University Hospital, and Nemours Children’s Health. He went on to complete a prestigious combined orthopedic and neurosurgical spine fellowship at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute in Seattle, WA. There, he gained extensive experience managing spinal trauma, tumors, infections, degenerative conditions, and complex adult spinal deformities.
Dr. Minissale earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Scranton. He has received numerous research and academic awards and has made significant contributions to the field through peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters, and presentations at national orthopedic and spine conferences.
Actively involved in advancing the field of spine surgery, Dr. Minissale is a member of several professional organizations, including the North American Spine Society (NASS), the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), AO Spine, and the Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS). He is also a reviewer for esteemed peer-reviewed journals, including the Global Spine Journal. Currently, he is completing the Global Spine Diploma (GSD) Program—an internationally recognized, comprehensive training pathway designed to certify the next generation of spine surgery leaders.
