Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal needed
  • Interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous responsible, professional and ethical manner
  • Must be flexible, reliable and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
  • Familiarity with and ability to use equipment in assigned modality, imaging equipment and PACS
  • Ability to utilize the principles, theories, practices, techniques and methods of the imaging procedures the team member conducts in order to produce images of high diagnostic quality
  • Demonstrates the ability to use proper screening methods of patients to avoid potential injury
  • Ability to assist patients onto table
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm and appropriate fashion
  • Possesses working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and MR pathology
  • Understands anatomy so as acquire the slices/slabs in the most effective manner
  • Knowledgeable on correct and appropriate studies to perform for the patient’s diagnosis

Responsibilities

  • Produces high quality MRI diagnostic images while providing excellent patient care.
  • Checks referral for appropriate study
  • Assures room is ready prior to the patient entering the room (i.e. Equipment is operable, and all supplies are readily available)
  • Ensures there is an exam order; if an order correction needs to be made, the technologist corrects the order with the referring physician’s approval, always maintaining compliance.
  • Properly documents patient history and exam information for radiologists’ interpretations.
  • Administers venipuncture in a safe and effective manner (if applicable)
  • Consults with Radiologist when necessary to determine appropriate scanning procedure
  • Keeps patient schedule and attempts to accommodate add-on patients when requested
  • Communicates delays or changes in the schedule to the appropriate person(s)
  • Practices universal medical precautions and properly disposes infectious materials into biohazard containers ( If applicable) 
  • Assures patient safety by screening for metal objects and/or implants prior to the patient entering the MRI room
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
  • Remains professional in all situations
  • Follows MR protocols in conducting scan
  • Demonstrates good judgment when correlating patient history and scanning protocols
  • Monitors patient’s wellbeing during scans; recognizes patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action
  • Exercises sound judgment regarding image quality; determines when repeats are necessary
  • Performs routine maintenance and ensures cleanliness of equipment and rooms on daily basis
  • Maintains appropriately level of supplies
  • Adheres to all AART, OSHA & OASD regulations and practices and generally accepted safety protocols
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical/Mental Demands

  • High levels of mental concentration are required. Ability to lift and place all MRI coils on MRI table. Must handle multiple tasks simultaneously and subject to interruptions. Physical effort requires sitting for long periods of time, walking to assist patient and reaching with hands and arms. Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and the ability to speak and hear are required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

JOB OVERVIEW: Responsible for patient care under the direction of a physician or licensed health care provider.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma.State of Delaware licensed.Minimum of 2 years of orthopaedic experience required.Computer skills. Excellent interpersonal skills needed.A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance, support and maintain work flow to assigned providers in regards to patient care at all times.
  • Maintain clinical data for patients such as current medication list and medical history.
  • Schedule diagnostic tests and complete required authorizations for said tests as needed.
  • Review assigned provider charts for upcoming appointments.Make sure the chart is up to date and accurate.Make sure the provider has the required information for appointment to improve efficiency of provider during office hours.
  • Main inventory of medical supplies.Report any necessary shortages of supplies to manager.
  • Keep examination rooms clean and well stocked.
  • Perform proper sterilization techniques for medical equipment using autoclave.
  • Use proper technique for various medical procedures.
  • Assist provider, as necessary, with in office procedures.
  • Address patient messages in a timely and efficient manner.Communicate with provider, as needed, regarding any messages.Document in complete detail any advice or medical assistance given to patient.
  • Communicate any pertinent information regarding patient care to Front Desk or Surgical Coordinator.
  • Maintain and fax all physician orders.
  • Comply with all OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
  • Working knowledge of other departments.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by Manager or Administrator as needed.

Billing Coordinator

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt 

JOB OVERVIEW: Responsible for processing fees for services and bills in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with the established guidelines and procedures of Orthopaedic Associates of Southern Delaware. This position requires significant, direct communication with Physicians, Insurers and Patients. It also requires knowledge of proprietary banking and insurance software/websites.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma. Working knowledge of medical systems required. Good oral and written communication skills required. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. College degree preferred, but not required. Minimum of three (3) years of accounts receivable experience. Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette required.

Detailed Responsibilities: 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve billing issues involving Physicians, insurance companies and patients.
  • Perform accurate data entry/processing of charge position in NextGen and EMR operating systems.
  • Batch incoming remittances received via U.S.P.S.
  • Reconcile remittances by batch with associated supporting documentation
  • Locate and record 835 files associated with ERA (electronic remittance advice) payers from clearing house (Navicure)
  • Create and enter manual remittance batches into the NextGen operating system
  • Download 835 files and review resulting transactions for ERA (electronic remittance advice) payers in the NextGen operating system
  • Perform batch process on all manual and ERA transactions entered into NextGen operating system to ensure reconciliation with the appropriate remittance batch
  • Initiate post/lock function on all reconciled batch in the NextGen operating system
  • Produce and file a payment journal for each processed batch
  • Separate and batch supporting documentation and forward for optical scanning
  • Process “no remittance” files in the NextGen operating system
  • Catalogs daily payments journal for 90 day retention
  • Retrieve remittance batches from bank lockbox website
  • Redirect misdirected documentation to the appropriate department for handling
  • Open, review, sort and process “no remittance” U.S.P.S mail in the operating system 
  • Retrieve, identify and record pre-deposit / pending transactions ACH/EFT items from online bank report
  • Identify for handling any confirmed ACH/EFT deposits associated with paid claims 
  • Retrieve all supporting documentation for confirmed ACH/EFT deposits via the clearing house (Navicure) or various payer websites
  • Monitor and retrieve from various payers websites “no remittance” files 
  • Maintain confidentiality in regard to patients account status

Physical/Mental Demands: High levels of mental concentration are required. Must handle multiple tasks simultaneously and subject to interruptions. Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

JOB OVERVIEW: Provide direct support to physicians, mid-level providers, clerical staff and patients. Coordinates inter and intra office communications. Work directly with patients to ensure smooth patient flow, patient satisfaction and coordination of multiple tasks. Presents a positive image to supporting staff members and patients at all times.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or Associate Degree in related field, previous experience in a medical office practice, excellent communication and computer skills, patient service focus and professional appearance.

Detailed Responsibilities: 

  • Answer all incoming calls and route calls as necessary throughout the organization.
  • Schedule, reschedule and cancel appointments for all providers according to provided protocol.
  • Update patient information.
  • Collect patient demographic information and nature of complaint/injury on new patients that contact the office by phone.
  • Carefully document all incoming messages and task to appropriate party.
  • Refer calls of a clinical nature to the appropriate medical secretary or provider.
  • Check-in and check-out, collect demographic data and collect co-pays, daily.
  • Process credit card payments and end of day settlement for credit payments.
  • Manage petty cash account.
  • Check multiple incoming fax lines and distribute faxes accordingly.
  • Maintain file of incoming ER reports.
  • Maintain adequate copies of all front office forms.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines at all times.
  • If patient medical records need to be obtained, have patient fill out Authorization to Release Medical Information form.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by Manager or Administrator as needed.
